Dara Jon Taheri
D. Jon Taheri, Esquire, is an attorney licensed and authorized to practice law in the states of California, Texas, and Washington. He has taken and passed three very differently formatted state bar exams in a row without ever taking a bar review. This is a testament to his strong discipline and structured approach to the study of law. He is eligible for admission in AL, AZ, CO, ID, MN, MO, MT, NE, NH, ND, UT, and WY based on his Uniform Bar Exam (UBE) score and the District of Columbia and MN based on his Multistate Bar Exam (MBE) score.

He is also licensed and authorized to practice law in the U.S. Federal Courts of the California Central District Court, Texas Southern District / Bankruptcy Court, Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals, and the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals.

Mr. Taheri practices law in the areas of civil, business, commercial, energy, entertainment, environment, finance, international; litigation, securities, and white collar criminal defense.

Mr. Taheri received a Bachelor of Business Administration (B.B.A.) degree in Finance from the Edwin L. Cox School of Business at Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas and a Doctor of Jurisprudence (J.D.) degree from Southwestern Law School in Los Angeles, California.

At Southwestern Law School, he concentrated on Entertainment and Environmental Law. He has a thorough understanding of Entertainment Law with an educational foundation in many areas of the industry including: music, motion pictures, publishing, sports, visual art, and museums. He excelled at drafting intellectual property licenses in IP Licensing: Law & Practice and has a vast knowledge of contracts and the nomenclature involved in the different areas of the industry. As an artist of music, photography, and creative design, he has a keen observation from the artist’s perspective.

Some of the specialized courses and subjects he studied include: Art & Museum Law, Climate Change Law, Commercial Paper, Consumer Law, Copyright Law, Entertainment Law, Environmental Law, International Finance, IP Licensing: Law & Practice, Land Use Planning & Control, Mass Media, Motion Picture Production, Music Industry Contracts, Oil & Gas Law, Secured Transactions, and Sports Law.

He also has a natural aptitude for math and an analytical mindset. He further appreciated these skills studying finance at the Edwin L. Cox School of Business at Southern Methodist University. He has been exercising these skills as a financial analyst and independent investor, studying market trends and stocks from a wide range of industries in the United States and abroad.
